A View To A Chill

A View to a Chill pulls together idyllic images from landscapes that need to be seen to be believed. These are vibrant and contrasty HDR images, processed for that ‘over the edge’ look, perfect for adding a touch of the exotic to a bare wall.

Wet and beaten from a whistle-stop, over-subscribed tour of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, we trek the cobbled streets of another local Na Xi village.

Shangri-La

Wildly vivid colours adorn the ancient brown woodwork, cobbled streets worn smooth from a millennia of dragging feet, coffee shops spill out on to the small squares filled with dancing Tibetans, circling to the rhythmic beat of drums and mystical instruments singing the song of Shangri-La.

Circumnavigating Tian Shi, a yellow-brick pathway directs tourists around the heavenly lake. On the horizon Tian Shan peaks through the cloud line, ever gazing over it’s shimmering sibling.

The Mid Levels

Nikon HDR

Open-air escalators traverse the steep climb from sea to summit, a discordant ensemble of chugging metal entertaining locals and tourists alike. High-rise glitzy central quickly gives way to a more relaxed tree-lined colonial façade, as one ventures from escalator to escalator, ascending to the Mid-Levels. Here it’s a world of kitsch cafes, pop-up restaurants and designer pet-shops, all sandwiched between the Cantonese business district and upper echelons of residential Victoria peak.
