It’s easy to forget that most digital and printed literature only ever really show us the best of the best, often hiding our learning and mistakes to the public. A Dawn Chorus was eventually captured from the living room balcony of an apartment in Addis. I posted it on Social as usual, filed it under images I’d like to print and then moved on with my life. Only a year later did I stop to think how long it took me to get the image. The final image was something I was determined to capture after seeing two workers sweeping the rooftops one morning. The birds were always around so they wouldn’t cause an issue but the dogs, they were harder to predict. The gallery below shows some of the other shots I took during my many days peering through a 500mm as the sun rose each morning. Patience pays off in the end, mostly.
